[ultimate Guide] How To Unlock Bootloader, Root And Flash Recovery On Redmi Note 3

Flashed the RN3 (MTK) with success. Today unlocked the RN3. But cannot install TWRP (from miui.eu and from twrp.me) on the RN3.
The command "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" is okay, but "fastboot boot twrp.img" give "FAILED" (unknown command).
Also with "fastboot boot recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-hennessy.img" > FAILED.

What to do?
After "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" and when it's done, press and hold Vol+ and power button to restart phone and release power button when Mi logo appears. Continue pressing Vol+ untill in TWRP.

First thing you should do is backup your device and then Format data and restart TWRP so you can update the rom with Choosing update package in Updater app. ;)

After that just copy the rom file from computer to your phone and install rom .zip file and reboot. ;)

Thank you (again) for you help.
Followed your advice and the RN3 booted in TWRP.
The rest was done and now the lastest stable eu rom is running, so I can use the RN3 just as I want.

There was an error though, about "could not bound oem" or something. Is that a problem?

No problem. Ignore that error. Did you flash latest 3.1.1-0 TWRP ?

Yes, I installed the TWRP from this website and is 3.1.1-0. I checked (turned off my phone) and turned it on in the recovery (TWRP) mode. I had to do the settings again, that's odd, don't you think? But it's working....

Yeah you got the latest one. The first time you install it you need to restart twrp recovery, after that it won't ask for the swipe modification any more if this is what you meant by settings?

You should be good to go. :)
