I got some V2 RGB bulbs added on Mi Home and have the Mi Home skill on alexa but none of the bulbs being discovered by Alexa although working perfectly in the Mi Home app. The V1 bulb I have works perfectly fine. If I add the Yeelight skill they show up in Alexa but I just get "device is unresponsive". Anyone any ideas?

Maybe yeelight skill doesnt work cause the bulbs haven't been added within the yeelight app, have to test this though, but I do have a requirement to have them in Mi Home app because of the Aqara switches.

is it the 10w, 800 lumens version (YLDP06YL)? yeah, i have that one too and indeed Alexa Mi Home skill can't find it yet.

i think xiaomi need to update the skill.

edit: it works with Google home though

Doesnt seem to work though the yeelight skill either, it finds the bulbs but just not responding.

I'm going to take a bit of time to troubleshoot this weekend but I think this is a lost cause until Xiaomi updates the skill. Probably it works with Yeelight skill on Singapore but then no Aqara switches.

Just wanted to mention for whoever might be having this issue that I got the new V2 bulbs to work with Mi Home on China and Alexa by using the BETA Yeelight skill (not the Mi home skill)

great.
where can I find this beta Yeelight skill? is it available for public?

thanks, @MarkHUK..
sent them email for an invitation, no response yet... fingers crossed.

i actually prefer Yeelight skill over Mi Home skill. Yeelight skill can also use scenes created in Yeelight app.
It's Yeelight China, so i'd imagine Monday or during next week sometime :)

Hey everyone. I've moved my light bulbs/strips/lamps from the Singapore server to China Mainland because my set of Smart Home devices from Xiaomi/Aqara is continuesly growing and I wanted to have everything in one place (to use Automations, for instance). The only problem is, I have bought a few more light bulbs (Xiaomi Yeelight RGB v2) and I have the same issue as mentioned by the OP. The V1 Yeelight Bulbs work perfect on Alexa (with the Mi Home skill), but the V2 Bulbs are not being discovered at all... They work in both Yeelight and Mi Home Android applications, but I can't use them with Alexa.

I saw that the posts above are from Oct '18 so I would have guessed that this issue is resolved by now but it looks like the problem is still present. Any tips?

Thanks!

Please refer to the same response I have previously given on this, you will need to JOIN the beta for the new SKILL. A little reading goes a long way.

Excuse me but I am looking for a long term solution, not a 90-days beta try out that is working only okay-ish. As you can see I did the reading part, sorry that you can't be helpful without being fussy.

Entering the BETA would most likely give you access to further updates... But considering you didn't even try what else would you hope to gain from not trying that first? Also how would you know the terms of the BETA and if it's "okay-ish" if you didn't try it?

Also, no one is being "Fussy", im simply advising the best course of action given your query. You choose how you wish to proceed.

Sadly, but no... You have 90 days to test the new Yeelight app and then the beta skill vanishes from your Amazon account. The official statement of Yeelight staff is once you ended the beta program, you have to wait for the final release (god only know how long).

Feel free to read the comments in the Beta Skill topic you have linked. People are disappointed because the new skill can't leave the beta stage for such a long time. And after the 90 days of testing they are left with the non working skill, which is an absurd. Also, there are numerous comments about a bug that makes the devices be displayed in Alexa as unresponsive, but you can still control them via voice. If that is not okat-ish, I don't know what is.

Try emailing them for an update (luhaobo@yeelight.com). Unfortunately we dont have any control over Yeelight company here.

I also noticed you only asked to join the BETA there 6 hours ago... So with that in mind I would suggest trying it and seeing for yourself if those claims are valid or something other.

I have the same problem. It is impossible to connect with Alexa. I have tried with Mi Home App, activated the Skill Mi Home with the same account and nothing, Alexa does not find the bulb.

Found the solution, when you signup a new xiaomi acc, select location to Singapore,it works. If you stay by default on China,it not work, mean alexa cant find anything from xiaomi.
