Bootloop after Miui 11 official update

Hello everyone!

I own two Redmi Note 4 global devices. I went with updating both of them with MIUI 11 via official update. Mine is ok but my son's device (Mi account not connected!) is now in bootloop.

I've contacted Xiaomi Service Global and basically the answer is "we're sorry for inconvenience, contact the store". The only solutions provided needed the phone fully booted.

I've tried unlocking the device - but since it was not connected to Mi account (?) it fails. I've asked for assistance to unlock the device so I can fastboot flash it but to no avail.
I've tried using Mi Assistance - PC suite in Recovery but it does not detect the device; in fastboot mode it says "connect device normally first".

Do I have any more options or simply I have a nice brick?

Thank you!

You may try XIOMI TOOLS:
It needs usb debug set, I don't know in your case.
Give a try, no expense.
PS: strange msg returned in fastboot mode, what' means "normally"?

Thanks for reply!

The problem here might be:
"* = Uses included official MiFlashUnlock, granted Xiaomi account binded to the device is still necessary!" -- the phone belongs to my son and was not bound with account.

Regarding the message - I got it in PCSuite when I connected phone with fastboot mode. I assume "normally" means booted or in recovery with Mi Assistant.
But in Recovery with Mi Assistant the device is not recognized..

Try connecting to a different USB output and try another computer.
The phone must connect to MIAssistant. (if not in general failure.)
I can't help you much. May be somebody have better direction for you.
No problem, you are welcome.

Your only hope is EDL mode (emergency download mode) + MiFlash + fastboot ROM installation since the bootloader is still locked and phone is not even bound to any Mi account (so you cannot ask for unlock permission).

Software EDL mode and deepflash cable methods have been removed from the firmware around the last MIUI 8 / first MIUI 9 (while it was still Marshmallow..) so the only chance to get to EDL is the testpoint method. Lots of articles were stored in en.miui.com but that's been closed (all links are throwing HTTP 404..) so check this video for instructions (and this links (but afaik this won't work..)) and if still have no luck look around on XDA and c.mi.com, too.

Well, sorry, since my device (Mido) is EOL from Xiaomi.EU point of view I don't login here too often but when I do I look around and answer questions if I can. Whether or not it helps the original poster the answer still can help users searching on the Internet for the same issue.

Dude.. why do you ask about Note 8 in the (EOL) Note 4 thread? Ask in the Note 8 thread.. oh, you did.. I especially don't know why you even started the process while even the Xiaomi.EU team advises NOT TO install TWRP or any mods.. (and not to buy any device with MTK SoC..)
