unfortunately this method does not work. it displays a message to first obtain permission using mi community. did you have the oem unlocking option checked in the developer options? the one above "mi unlock status". or did you check it only after connecting the account to the phone

I did the unlocking yesterday on Xiaomi 15 Ultra, 3 minutes, the whole thing was 80 dollars, they installed a program on my laptop. And that's it! (NCunlock) The xiaomi community has been talking s**t for 2 months. I'm tired of this.

I doesn't have any china friendxiaomi global account more tha 2900 daysYes, i did unlock before: xiaomi 14t pro (global), xiaomi 13t (global), xiaomi mi 11 (china), redmi 20t(china), xiaomi 9t (global) - on the same mi account... And i unlocked one mtk-devices with exploit for older mtk with this my account (now more than 2900 days old)
And i unclocked with other account xiaomi 15 pro (china) via my china friend last year
I see your frustration. If I knew I dont have granted access I would not bother to buy Xiaomi again.

"oem unlocking" option currently means nothing. It makes no difference whether you check it or not.
unfortunately i don't know why sometimes device linking works without getting permission from the community. you can try create a new xiaomi account and try with it.
Of course we mean that you have a global device
You can try this: try to get permission through the community, get a refusal, then go to the phone settings, log out Xiaomi account, go to the mi unlock developer settings and try to link the device, it will ask you to log in to your Xiaomi account

Did the same yesterday - NCunlock. Nice and easy. Have been trying to get bootloader unlock via xiaomi community app for over 2 weeks without any success. Pointless wasting more time on something, that just doesn't work.
Easy?? Please tell me how i can unlock my phone easely. it's driving me crazy!!! Xiaomi 15 Global at 999€ and i can't use it because of this new insane unlock policy. Opened Xiaomi community app->unlock bootloader->apply for unlocking->and...APPLICATION QUOTA REACHED, PLEASE TRY AGAIN IN THE NEXT 4 DAYS... EVERY TIME MORE DAYS ADDED...
It's a joke and i just take my decision: after more than ten device, no more xiaomi in my life.

I'm not the person you replied to, but I have the same problem as them. Been trying to unlock the BL on my 15U since the day I got it - March 7th and every day it fails, quota limit reached. And yes I tried to bind my account to Mi unlock in dev settings, but it just tells me I haven't gotten the authorization. My account is way older than 30 days, so that's not the issue either.
The only thing I haven't tried yet and seen people mention is to do it on a non-Xiaomi phone. Would I have to do that at midnight China time as well? I assume so
I think you can forget it to make it possible over the community app...i try 2 weeks ,other people longer

Try on a different phone it's a dead way.. I tried with 4 different device at same time ( 1 lenovo tablet, one samsung tablet, 1google pixel, 1 oppo find). I think the unlocking possibility it's only connected to a sort of account lottery. So now its virtually impossible unlock our x15 device...
Tried is the right word. When I tried the response was "go to xiaomi community and ask for bl unlock!" And the nightmare started... I really don't knowed about the new unlock policy, otherway I would never have bought Xiaomi

When I read this I am super happy I have applied for access to unlock in 2024. Thanks to it my Xiaomi 15 was unlocked within 72 hours after the purchase. I did not know I can do unlock because I forgot I did apply for it before and found out accidentally, LOL. I was almost about to buy Pixel to switch from Xiaomi, because of these problems with unlocking. But now I feel happy as the Xiaomi 15 is a great phone for an amazing price with all the bonuses but at the same time, I know this phone is my last Xiaomi which is sad...
I wish everyone who struggles the best of luck to unlock it soon. It must be pain and huge frustration. I feel for you!

The 15 Pro is China-exclusive and China models require different methods (for the official method you must live in China), so I don't think it would work

Finally managed to get the permission.
I didn't do anything special, I think I just got lucky. I applied for permission in the Xiaomi Community app at 0:00 China time as usual and when it failed I went to the developer options to try and bind my account to Mi unlock. This time it said it cannot verify and told me to sign in again.
So I signed out of my Xiaomi account on my 15U, signed in again and then went to dev settings and tried to add my account to Mi Unlock. And finally it worked.
I still gotta wait 72 hours though, but I'm just glad I got the damn permission.
