I suspect it's something to do with the upgrade process from MIUI 7 to 8. I then wiped everything (also system) and flashed MIUI 8 again - now the has gone. The switch works just fine. So maybe it was an upgrade problem. I also suspect second screen might have something to do with it... I can't...

Me again ;) I wiped everything and flashed MIUI 8 - adb works, now. I guess it was something wrong with the upgrade process from MIUI 7.

Just to follow-up. I flashed CM 12.1 using twrp and guess what IMEI is back (and it's the correct one, as written on the back of the box) - so much for the posts that say IMEI gets lost during flashing. Also beware: before flashing CM 12 I found some links with an app (smaller window with...
