In reply to my own message: I did play around a bit and found that flashing the partitions modem_ab and modemfirmware_ab with the corresponding files from the official 1.0.5 EEA/Global firmware solves my issue of not having mobile data. It can also be reproduced: flashing these files from 1.0.9...

Just went from Xiaomi EU 1.0.8 to 1.0.9 on my global 14U - WiFi is OK, but no mobile data ... So you are not alone ;)... Any ideas for fixes are much appreciated.... Addendum: seems data availability is intermittent, on some occasions its there, then again missing.... Will observe further

Not sure if this is the right thread to discuss, but my understanding was that Xiaomi users still have the option to apply for bootloader unlock with the same process as it used to be (albeit with a different unlock wait time) - or has this changed recently ?

Currently using first HyperOS weekly (08.11.23) on my 13 Ultra. One thing I noticed is that there usual notification to change the keyboard is missing... Is that only in my install? Any hints on how to solve this? Thanks, cheers, Axel

How did you flash the original ROM ? Care must be taken that you do not relock the bootloader when being on a ROM different from the CN version - if you do you get a brick that only EDL can recover. Some of the tools used for flashing have the bad habit of providing a "relock bootloader" switch...

It appears that in Japan your device needs to be compatible to Osaifu-Keitai to allow for mobile payments. As the chinese ROMs are not customized for Japan I assume its clear that this functionality is missing. Maybe there are workarounds, a quick check with Google gave this Github-Link, not...

Interesting, I had been using Svetinges mods on my 11U .... so far didn't get to it on my 13U, though .... do you use a mod for current-version camera software and for the 13U ? If yes a link (maybe to the corresponding telegram group) would be brilliant ! :)

I long ago gave up on backing up up and restoring in TWRP as this tended to cause many issues - if a restore resulted in a working phone at all ;).... You should be able to select the super partition and try to create a backup, however. Whether restoring it will work at all : I have no idea ;)
