New 12.5.10 some recent apps not open

I do realize that, that is why it confuses me, but I think they may be different branches hence the weird build number when compared to the actual version.

For those willing to give it a try I have created this Magisk module (based on https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-launcher-moded.59189/#post-581812) that downgrades the MIUI Launcher version to the last RELEASE version that does not exhibit the bug (4.21.16.3216).

Let me know if that does the trick for you guys. On my Poco F2 Pro running MIUI stable v12.5.4 it seems to work just fine. But of course take it with a grain of salt.
The launcher version in your ZIP is RELEASE-4.21.18.3210-08111540... hence I said that you are confusing me.

Thanks... I played with the files so much I made a mistake when packing it. I have corrected the link.

I can reproduce that when using Nova launcher, but then again...
I know, but I don't want to have to wait for them to rewrite the launcher. Plus their launcher is almost 0 when it comes to customization options so using it is out of the question.

Yup, and like I said previously, version "4.21.16.3216" makes no sense, and the version in your ZIP is 4.21.16.3126, which makes sense.
4.21.16.3126 < 4.21.18.3206 and 3126 < 3206.

Yep... that is conclusive proof I am either stupid or tired (granted I went to bed at 4 am)... I typed 4.21.16.3216 instead of 4.21.16.3126.

Very disappointing.

It sounds like Xiaomi has no plans to fix this issue and Xiaomi EU cant address it

I tried the tasker method but its not ideal, I tried installing the Poco launcher but it has the same problem, the MIUI launcher app switch works fine but the launcher itself is total garbage (cant create app folders on the home screen?! Cant use downloaded icons?! Swipe -1 screen goes to lousy "App Vault" and cant use Google Discover properly?!).

Is there a version of Xiami EU that has recent app switching working for Nova launcher? (Mine was working fine until the recent weekly update, down grade to previous?)

Xiaomi are aware of this and are working on the solution for Android 12 according to Mi community forums.

You could automate the task to be performed every time you try and open recents. Personally the once a day click of shortcut satisfies myself.

I think 21.7.28 beta is the first beta version with the bug present. Might be wrong. Use the search button

If you have Magisk you can try the module I posted a couple of posts above. It should solve your problem.

Same problem and same ideas about default launcher. :(

Google Discover instead of App vault works fine, no idea what you guys are talking about.
Creating folders on the home screen works fine too, you just drag an app icon unto another app icon and it packs both into a folder.
Play Store icon packs were never supported on MIUI launcher, that's a feature of POCO Launcher.

Try adding an additional task after stock launcher to go home to nova launcher @Gholiad @tatoqasen @topoinol

If that doesn't work try adding a task to Launch Nova.

I don't get the same issue as you so can't test / figure out a solution for it.

Code:
    Task: Fix Recents

    A1: Go Home [
         Page: 0
         Package: com.miui.home ]

    A2: Go Home [
         Page: 0
         Package: com.teslacoilsw.launcher ]

This does not work for me. It keeps going back to the system launcher.

@ibart123, I installed font from Themes, and I found that my problem was gone., no more brings me to system launcher. Try it.

It was a short-term victory. The problem reappeared.

Which font do you install?
Happy Monkey by aleks22mix.

Unfortunately, I was mistaken!

I downgraded to 21.8.4 because of the problem with recent apps. :/

Thanks for that! Installed it on the Poco F3 / K40 yesterday. Since then no problems! :)

Man, give me your PayPal to send you a beer! I tried it with the latest weekly beta - 21.9.8 aad Nova Launcher 7, and works like a charm!

Is this confirmed to fix it?
Can you maybe create flashable TWRP zip, for those of us who are not rooted?
