Hi,
I am trying to install xiaomi.eu on mac. Previously I used windows and successfully updated. I have installed adb on mac. but when i run .sh script it opens in xcode and nothing more happens. I have tried to run it on parallels, but it doesn't even open file, command prompt just flashes suddenly. What should i do?

Xiaomi Mi 11 (VENUS) I noticed this problem in the Telegram application, maybe there are others, but I did not notice a clear manifestation. In the applications "Notes", "Messages" and many more, I do not observe such a problem. Do you guys have this problem? It doesn’t look like a marriage of iron, because it doesn’t show up everywhere. Tried older versions of gboard, same result. I offer a video of the problem. If you don’t even know a 100% solution, then write at least suggestions how to cure it?

It seem you have installed magisk modules like Google Keyboard Rounded Corner and other like Fullscreen/Immersive Gesture.

This might be considered off-topic, but I think it probably affects all Chinese phones, and there seems to be very little about it on the Web. My phone is a Redmi Note 7 running the final xiaomi.eu weekly for it, long out of support, but I surmise that the issue is general, to do with an identifier that the phone supplies called OAID (Open Anonymous Device Identifier). It seems to be a Chinese equivalent to Google's advertising ID, and a replacement in China to using the IMEI, I think introduced by Xiaomi. I don't like being tracked (I reset the Google advertising ID now and again). In the Settings a search for "Manage virtual ID" finds it; I didn't find it in the Settings tree. It has options to disable it so IDs are not provided to apps, and it can be reset. These options have dire warnings that part of app data could be lost, and some personal recommendation features might not work, so I am a bit nervous about changing them, though I don't actually expect much harm.

There isn't much about it on the Web, and a search of the Xiaomi forums didn't find it; one not very useful link is:
https://www.adjust.com/product-updates/adjust-supports-oaid-for-tracking-in-china/

Assuming that this is present on many or all Xiaomi phones and firmware, does anybody have any knowledge or suggestions? Can it be disabled without actually affecting operation? Is it a privacy/security worry or totally harmless? Would it be useful to remove this from the xiaomi.eu ROMs (no use to my discontinued RN7, maybe a future phone)?

Best wishes, pol098

This problem occurs without modules. I tried to sew a global version on A11, problems were noticed. I can’t understand if this is a Rom problem, then why is everyone silent about this problem?

its an useful feature. it acts like a hardware id, but you can opt to let an app to read that, or just plain string of "0", you can even reset it. it is a part of how dual app could work, the system return different "id" for each clone and so on.

I had issue number 1 when upgrading from A11 to A12 and this is a deeper android issue.

Only way to fix it is a factory reset and clean install, with some saying restoring backup after then is okay.
Factory reset would be in settings/additional settings/erase all data?

Or would it be booting the device with the volume up and power button, select Wipe Data?

Redmi k30 pro has a problem with frontal camera, in 3rd party apps like *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum*, Whatsapp videocalls, etc. Pop up camera goes up and down twice unnecesarilly... this will ruin the pop up camera with the time... please fix,,, it doesn't happen with the stock camera

K30 Pro here and have been on 9.2.22 all week. No issue whatsoever. Tried all the 3rd party video apps I have installed and all work just fine. No double pop up witth any of the apps. Also...I didn't do a clean install in like 3 months..always dirty flashing. So my guess it's something on your side and not the ROM. Maybe if someone else posts that they have the same issue someone might look into it...but for now ...you're just an isolated incident, and suggest the useless advice to do a clean install if it bothers you :))

Does android auto works for you guys WIRELESSLY? Since I updated to A12 from A11 it stopped working, the car does not recognise it as a wireless AndroidAuto device.

I actually did an erase all data, updated to last a11 weekly then straight to latest a12 weekly and worked well since

1) Virtual ID is part of MIUI and I see zero legitimate reasons to remove it from MIUI. It is also an optional feature that you can disable. We're not removing anything because someone is paranoid about his precious privacy. If you don't like to be tracked, turn off the internet.
2) Official Global ROMs don't support MIUI's Virtual ID by design, so if you want it disabled by default so much, use an official Global ROM.

Many thanks for useful response. I infer from (1) that disabling OAID (Open Anonymous Device Identifier) on the page found searching for "Manage virtual ID" from Settings won't actually cause any problems, and from (2) that it is probably only relevant in China. It is somewhat disturbing that there appears to be virtually nothing about this feature on the English-language Web, although it's present on many phones. I will probably stick with the xiaomi.eu ROM (an excellent project, for which I'm very grateful to developers, and to support in the community), and disable OAID.

Interested, I can talk, what kind of smartphone do you have?

Attention Windows users:
Fastboot Weekly 22.2.17 ROMs have been uploaded with a missing file. (Android 12 only)
As a result, your device will not be detected by the flashing script and will just stay on "Waiting for device...".
ROMs will be reuploaded later this night with the missing file added.
Meanwhile, before flashing, copy the following file from the previous fastboot ROM:
Code:
platform-tools-windows\AdbWinUsbApi.dll
to this location in the new fastboot ROM:
Code:
bin\windows\AdbWinUsbApi.dll

Will be closing this thread so that everybody will see this message and avoid spam.
Thread for 22.2.17 will be opened later.
