Updated my global stable 6.6.5.0 from MIUI.COM to 5.9.10 from this site using stock recovery. Now Settings -> About pad says MIUI version is MIUI 5.9.10 | Beta, but MIUI is still v6, not v7. What did i do wrong?

I doubt it. There is no Security app for example and all looks like v6. Btw, where is all Google apps, Only Play Store is there.
We have a false V7 on the mipad, it is still a v6 with some improvements of the v7. They didn't bother changing some text if it is really a v7 like in the setup, I just tried it with multiboot. What a shame.

The MiPad has always been kinda the ugly duckling among XiaoMi devices. Since day one, we got an official MIUI rom which wasn't on par with phones. With MIUI 6, nothing changed, still lacking key apps such as security centre or poor multitasking management.
Now that MIUI is out and available for our MiPad, it was to be expected that nothing would change. My guess is everything will be better on the next MiPad but we're stuck where we are with this one. It's really a shame since you can see how well the nVidia Shield is performing with similar hardware.
