New 6.3.10 On Mi3 Auto Brightness

Hi,
I have installed v 6.3.10 on my Xioami Mi3 without any problems.
now I have realized that the auto brightness does not work. if switched on, it is always 100%. the sensor seems not to react (if i cover with my finger). that has worked before with decuro or cMIUI.

is it a bug from 6.3.10 or is there something else in the settings?
is there a way to test the sensor?

anybody else has this problem?

i have found the proximity sensor in the hardware menu.
if covered it shows 0
if moving away it jumps from 0 directly to 5.00035
no values in between. but that's normal?

in the light sensor menu, the values change with the light/brightness.....so it seems to me the sensor works well, right?

so it must be a software glitch if the brightness of the screen is not adjusted well, right?
