But that setting was in "Data usage" -> Settings (gear icon) just 2-4 weeks ago, i configured it for another different data plan.

And it was there for ages...

So i consider this a bug, not a setting move.

Edit: Sorry, this bug was reported in #56 by @Japr99, #212 by @Epopirynek and confirmed by @cobben in #215. @Bfd979 fixed it with a full wipe in #220, but this is not a solution for most of us. Maybe it can be fixed removing only cache/data for this app but you lose your app restrictions, has anyone tried it?

Hope this will get fixed soon.
Not a bug, that's just how it works now.
1) Open Security app and then "Data usage".
2) Click the "Restrict data usage" button in the middle of the screen. (If that button is missing, continue to 3)
3) Click the "Set data usage limit" button in the middle of the screen.
4) Click "Data type plan" and select "Monthly data plan" (even if it's already selected).
"Monthly data plan" category will appear on the screen with settings like "Peak data limit", "Set peak data usage" and "Custom data plan".
5) Set the "Peak data limit".
6) Go to previous screen (main Data usage screen), and click the Settings icon on top-right corner.
You will now see the previously missing "Data plan", "Set data usage" and "Data usage warning" settings.

Inconvenient, but that's how Xiaomi programmed it.

And they removed the option "Ignore data usage from applications" right?

Nope, it's there.
Security -> Data usage -> Settings -> Data plan -> Custom data plan -> Ignore data usage.
Not on Vince...

Fixed:
I cleared all data in the Security app, and the normal menu appeared.

_______

This does not work on Max1 helium, Mix1 lithium or Note 2 scorpio for me.

When I push the buttons "restrict data usage" and then "set data usage limit", I can only add a number "set data usage", no menu appears.

I see no choice "data plan type" in the settings.
