Hi, is it possible to get an EU port for Mi3/Cancro based on China ROM 8.4.26? Please, one last time?

Any tip for the mix2- everything seems to work fine but incredible bad battery life. Device also gets very hot- seems to burn 20% battery within 2-3 hours in standby.
First you have to look is there eny apps wich take all power. Try to clear android-system data. I had also bad battery life (-40% in one night) and i think because i restore my data after rom installation. Clearing Android-system data help for me

Hi
I am using MIX and since the last update to this update MIUI 9.6 - 8.5.3 ,my LINE app still not opening just give me a error box and close down.
Anyone else having this issue?

If you have bootloop issue after install update, then follow this steps in this order:

1. Install latest TWRP recovery (if you already have it then skip this step)
2. Boot to TWRP recovery and stay in TWRP recovery until the last step
3. Wipe > Advanced Wipe: Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache, Wipe Cache, Wipe System
4. Wipe > Format Data (It formats the following partitions: Data, Internal Storage)
5. Reboot to TWRP Recovery
*6. Connect Phone to PC while you are in recovery and copy latest xiaomi.eu ROM.zip to internal storage and then Install ROM
7. Reboot to System

*You can use USB-OTG pendrive or ADB Sideload installation method too as alternative solution to install ROM.zip

Once you have done this then you will never ever have any issue with further updates. Just install further updates via updater app, no any additional action needed.

I have fixed boot loop on mi 5 in following way:

1. Backup data in twrp
2. Wipe: system, data, cache, dalvik cache
3. Reboot into system
4. Reboot into twrp
5. Restore data
6. Remove lockscreen password by removing following files in /data/system
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal

May be wiping data is not necessary, but just need to remove lockscreen password.

Hi guys i have a problem with the last mi mix update (8.4.12),

i already have the last working TWRP 3.2.1, and also i have the oreo android version, today with the OTA updates i tryed to instal the last update for mi mi mix, and all goes on the TWRP install the update without problems and than the phone restart, when i am on the MIX black update sceen it's going on for some minutes as usual, but at the end the system doesen't start, and the phone reboot and goes again on the TWRP... It's very frustrating!! How to fix??? I tryed also to clear the cache on the TWRP after the installation of the last update, but it doesen't works. I tryed also to reinstall the previous version, but again the same problem. Please help me!!

copy the update to your phone when in twrp and install it using the "Install Tab" this worked for me

Hi.
Just update the new ROM for Mi Mix.
But unfortunately, my phone was blocked. Can not remember the active code because very long time I have not match with this problem.
Who have the experiences and give me the advice please.

Thanks

Mi Note 2 from 8.4.12 (was working fine)
to 8.5.3, only wipe Cache & Dal., no formatting.

Phone will always reboot to TWRP no matter what I try, as several have reported.

To lazy to format & reinstall everything from scratch, so I restored previous version via TWRP backup.
Restore worked fine, had been wanting to try a full restore anyway just to see.

Will try 8.5.3 again soon with a few twists, but I noticed something interesting.

After installing 8.5.3, before rebooting at all, I went to the file manager in TWRP to replace the hosts file.
I have done this previously, no problem.

This time when I tried to copy the new hosts file into /system/etc I got a "Fault - 1" error.

After rebooting into TWRP it could be done as usual.

Does this mean the new 8.5.3 version does something peculiar to the file system?

When I try again I'll try to pay more attention, perhaps I missed something.

Just installed 8.5.3 again, this time the system/etc folder was not there when I looked - the normal system file structure was not yet in place after the raw install.
After a reboot into TWRP it was, as before.
??

Anyway, this time, after one try at booting into system, which went to TWRP instead as before, I restored my TWRP backup of data from 8.4.12, no wiping or formatting, rebooted into system - and it works! (so far . . .)
And all my apps, stuff & settings are still in place and functioning.

I have installed 8.5.3 for mi5, I dont have fast charging and it feels not working smooth/ bit lagging / working slower.
I had miui 9 or 9.1 and android 7 before (I was not updating long time), I think version which I had before was working better than this which actually I have installed.

Edit: It probably has fast charging but it's not displaying in details about charging.

Strange bug( is it?):
I have no more mi message inside sms app, but that's because I set region to "Italy" (where I live) and I know that xiaomi blocked some services in some countries, then I switched to something else to have it working. I set Switzerland and mi message started working again but... I have no more face unlock. I realized that changing region in fact enables/disables the face unlock option... Is it normal? I have a minute 5s plus with latest Dev .eu rom
For anyone having one of the two not working, just go to settings, search for "Region" and set India, everything works then

Thank you for the tip. I was wondering. I read that you should never format /system on any Xiaomi phone. It is safe for the Mi Mix 2? How do I know which phones it is safe for and which ones it isn't?

There is a remote possibility to get MIUI 9 Oreo for Mi5X? (If you need a tester, I can help)
We have to wait until official MIUI team release a beta of Oreo for the Mi 5X and it would be maybe after 1 year of releasing this device I mean maybe in September
