Hi all,

I have 3 Xiaomi 360 2K cameras, that have been in use for a few months in the past, then not in use for some time. Trying to bring them back to operation, I reset them, and am trying to connect them to my Xiaomi Home app (Android 13).

The camera is detected, the app moves forward to connecting to it, then
- asks for WiFi details
- asks to connect to the camera's own SSID
- reports "Connection Successful",
- starts uploading data to the camera

When the percentage number comes close to 99%, it reports: Failed to Send Message, move your phone closer to the camera.

Obviously the phone is very close to the camera. I tried this again and again many times, on all cameras; all with the same result.

I need help in getting these cameras back to service. Can anyone assist?

Thanks!

It looks like your Xiaomi 360 2K cameras are struggling to complete the setup process. Since they successfully detect the WiFi and reach 99% before failing, the issue is likely related to the network or the communication between the app and the camera. Make sure you’re using a 2.4GHz WiFi connection, as these cameras don’t always support 5GHz. If you’ve already reset them and ensured the phone is close, try using a different device for setup or adjusting your router settings, such as switching DNS to Google’s (8.8.8.8). If the problem continues, reinstalling the Xiaomi Home app or trying a different network may help resolve it.

Thanks for responding!!
Well, when the failure is (was) happening consistently at the same spot (after successful connection to cam WiFi and 99% progress reported), I was less inclined to assume a bad network connection.
After a lot of hair pulling, it turned out that the app has a setting for a region/country. My app was, for some reason that I still don't understand, set to a region very different from the cam (i.e. where the cam was purchased). When I set the app to the correct region (and where we purchased the cam) - everything started to work. Go figure...
