New AI button opens Assistant Homepage not Voice Assistant

I have just updated to 9.10.24 - Mi 9 and I have noticed that when I press the AI button, it opens up Assistant homepage and not the Voice assistant. I have to press the microphone icon but this can be bothersome while driving a car. I know "Ok Google" doesn't and isn't the concern of this dev group but are these two problems related?
