rild is referred as the modem/radio control? [...]
Hoping in developers...
Yes if rild (thats how its written in the xda post) should mean ril, its the radio interface layer, in other words the connection between android and the hardware based radio and modem components.

I dont know if one can call this already alpha as ril is one of the fundamental components for a useable phone. Beside that it seems to be quite tricky to fix.
At the moment also bugers has some problems fixing it and in my opinion he is one of the most competent developers for our phone.

But hopefully its only a matter of time or it finds someone who could help with this. In addition its difficult to say how much chinese developers are still developing for the mi2s.
