APK through blutooth?

Hi, I was able to send APK files in V4 but since V5 I can't do that, only other files, is it a permission or a security reason?

GT-i9300 & GT-i9100
Both devices are are V5
None of them could send or receive APKs

Using root explorer to start the file transfer.
