New Audio/video sync issues (RTSP)

With my MI2, I'm finding that some apps which use Android's built-in video streaming (so no option to pick which app to use for playback) end up with audio that is out of sync with the video.

The apps that I found this issue with are:
- TVCatchup
- BT Sports (just launched today)
Both use live RTSP streams I believe.

So presumably MIUI, or at least the MI2(s), has a buggy implementation of RTSP? And if so, can anything be done about it/fixed/worked-around?
