Hello,

Does anybody get this issue whereby when you film in 4k 60fps, the camera keeps 'sliding' even though you have stopped moving it.

Any workaround?

I currently have the EU MIUI 13 Stable ROM. And as far as i am aware, they don't calibrate the camera here in the eu ROM. This was a non-issue on the China MIUI 13 ROM.

Not sure if helpful but I tried doing the same thing with my Mi 11 Ultra (4k, 60 fps, fast swinging movements) also on EU MIUI 13 Stable, and I did not experience the same problem.

I found that when i go into the 'Pro' mode, i am able to turn off 'image stabilization' and then the issue is no more. But the problem with turning it off, theres no stabilised footage.

I may try and reinstall the miui 13 eu version again but first i need to research how to do it.

i checked on my 11 ultra.... it does exactly the same thing. but then it seems logical to me as itis ELECTRONIC stabilization not optical. which means the devices processor does ARTIFICIALLY stabilize the images through checking a certain number of frames before and after the actual frame. for the same reason the horizontal pannings if done very quickly are not as clean as on an optically stabilized device.
My advice: if you do paning do it quite slowly not in a rush (which even on optically stabilized is not very pleasant to watch anyway).
but it is definitely not a bug.

may i suggest you do it first with 1080 and 30fps where the effect is more noticeable. i did it then like you with 4K and 60 fps.... the effect is less noticeable but it still is there. Not a bug though but logical as it is ELECTRONIC and not optical stabilizationl

Hi, thanks for checking this out on your phone also.
What makes me think it is a bug is that i tested the same thing with my Mi Mix 3 which has the stabilization on and it doesn't produce this result that the mi 11 ultra does.
And for the short time that i had the mi 11 (not ultra), that too initially had this issue but then after some days (perhaps it was an update) it performed just like the mi mix 3.

But what you say about the stabilization may be correct, maybe this one is a little more sensitive hence it doesn't react good with sudden sharp movements.

You're definitely right there. Changing to 1080 30fps and then back to 4k does help somewhat. Thanks.

actually i wonder if you have the latest stable ROM with MIUI13 and A12 installed? it should be 13,0.9
that's what i have installed and if in video mode within camera app, there is NO option within the definitions to activate or deactivate stabilization.
Instead you will find in the preview screen on top a new icon. if you tap on it appear 3 options: standard, stabilization digital, stabilization digital pro.
i have no idea what is exactly the difference between as i didn't find any explanation searching the net. by experience i noticed that in pro mode,
there seem to be stabilization in 3 senses: horizontal, vertical AND rotation. I have to add that these 2 additional options further to standard stabilization do ONLY WORK with 1080, 30fps. 4K and 8K as well as all 60fps options only work with standard stabilization option.
see encl. printscreens and verify your ROM version.

PS: by the way, now you also can preview video on the small rear facing screen, which previously only was possible for photos.

meanwhile i did some more trials and found out:
- standard stabilization CANNOT be deactivated

I did a factory reset and the stutter has pretty much gone. But its introduced a new problem. If i have the always-on display turned on, every now and again i get screen flickers.

I've decided to just accept it as it is.
