"Cannot connect to this network"

Hello,

I have a problem with my Xiaomi 12S Ultra I got a couple of years ago.

I live in Turkey and recently I had to travel to the US and back, there I got a second SIM which worked fine.

Then I returned to Turkey and for certain reasons I had to get a new line from a different carrier and thus a different SIM. My old Turkish SIM still works fine but the new SIM (Vodafone tr) randomly connects either to UMTS or once or twice to VoWifi with the second SIM but otherwise says "Cannot connect to this network, try again later" when I manually try to pick a carrier. And the data never works. The SIM works fine on other phones, and a friend's SIM from a third carrier (Turkcell) also had the same issue on my phone. My original carrier (Turk Telekom) still works fine...

When I reboot/manually change carrier/airplane mode on/off or use 4636 to turn radio on and off to try to fix it most of the times it just loses connection and gets no service with the manual and the automatic carrier selection saying "cannot connect to this network". This is the same for both SIM slots.

I did all the network reset, reboot, SIM card changing processes, 4636 settings, APN settings recommended for these issues usually but still haven't been able to solve my problem.

Finally I installed hyperOS2 since it was an update and I was at EU rom of MIUI 14 before, with the wipe and install feature to try to see if that makes any difference but nope...

The issue seems to be carrier specific, did you check the band's used by Vodafone in your area VS the band's used by your phone ?

Ah yes I did, sorry this is what I found. Only a single band is not supported for 4G but there seem to be alternative ones. But the carriers all seem to have the same bandwidths, and only one carrier's SIM works on my phone of the three. And in the random occasions I get UMTS signal there is no data, or I get voWifi with no bars (only happened once after the upgrade to Hyper OS2, happened at first with the MIUI 14 eu rom while saying "Not able to register" when not getting service, then switched to how it is now where it says it can't connect to the network
