Invalid Chrome's "Add to Home screen" feature does not work

Hello,

I recently switched my MI 5 from the global ROM and found that one of my favorite features does not work. I used to add a shortcut to the home screen from Google Chrome and they were added as a standalone app. On the 8.6.21 ROM from xiaomi.eu this does not work - a shortcut/app is not created when I select the "Add to Home screen" item from Chrome's menu.

Am I missing something?

You need to give permission. Go to security app > app manager > chrome > permissions > create home shortcuts (or something like that)

Hi,
i have the same problem on my mi8 with xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8_9.1.17_v10-9 and older versions. It seems to be a Problem with Android 8.x versions - mi5c on Android 7.x does not have the problem. Old migrated shortcuts are working; new ones are not created. The permissions as stated in the previous message are set.
The same problems can also be seen with the shortcut creator apps from playstore: Anker and Website Shortcut

The problem was solved for me when I double-checked the permissions.
