Invalid GIF previews not loading in WhatsApp

Morning all, thanks for your incredible work on this ROM. My Mi 11 Ultra is finally up to snuff now!

I do have a strange issue whereby the GIF preview screen in WhatsApp search is blank. They load immediately once a grey square is selected but the overview is useless (see video here

). I've tried deleting WhatsApp, changing keyboards (used gboard and swiftkey), spoken to WhatsApp support all to no avail. Has anybody else experienced this please, or know of a solution?
