Hi guys,

I've installed last miui 10 release from the forum, all looks like working but google assistant not. I've read many people complains about it but not for this specific release so... I guess was asked 100 times but: it works for you? Some kind of magic trick to try to make it works? It asked me to setup the voice at first but...for nothing basically

Ty in advance

You forgot a "tiny" detail, like your device model and the ROM version you're using.

you are right... I've a redmi k20 pro, I've tried both the last weekly, then the last stable, same issues... yesterday magically the toggle stayed "on" but still not working, after then I've reset the voice pattern (not available when it was off) and again, it don't wanna go on anymore...so back to step 1

Another issue I've noticed is that youtube videos go randomly really slow.... and another one too is...that android auto sometimes can communicate with music players, sometimes not, same for sending messages, looks impossible...

I've read around that the voice problem is tied to snapdragon 855 in some ways, so there's no fix, it's true?

Btw, is this maybe the wrong section to post this?

Thank you

That's right, China ROMs for Snapdragon 845/855 devices don't have a working OK Google, in 855's case we can't fix it.

This is the correct section to post it.

I've had this problem and I kinda solved doing this: Set up voice match through the main screen of the Google app and ok Google works, but if I access settings to see if it's enabled or not, it greys out and I have to reconfigure again, weird bug but that way at least it works

Ok, then I guess we have to wait until they release the global version

Hmm

Hmm interesting, but for working u mean u can say it everywhere and it respond, or that u just push the microphone button and then u speak?

When u said u've configured it from the main screen of the google app, what do u mean? There's no option to do it in the main screen... only going to setting (from the app or from the phone settings, but to me it seems they are the same page)

ps.: which rom version are u running and terminal? I've seen u've posted about mi8 but for it there's a global rom out so maybe it works thanks to it

@Igor Eisberg what about videos not working well and google auto integration working so so though?

last but not least: seeing stable isnt working better than weekly, should u suggest to install weekly to have fast updates maybe?

Ty guys

No idea about any issue with videos, and I don't have any way to test Auto. In general, we have very few control over any Google feature.
Yes, I rather use Weekly as we also improve stuff over there quicker.

Well yes, you can say ok Google on any screen you can even close Google app after and will still work, at least for me... I'm attaching a screenshot to help, you just have to make sure that you deleted your voice model in voice settings first and then press the mic logo in the main screen of the app to guide you through the voice model configuration like it was your first time

P.s: I'm running beta 9.6.27 on Mi 8 Lite

No, it's because Mi 8 Lite doesn't have a Snapdragon 845.

Or it's cos anyway global is out and then whatever snap it has, is the same? Cos otherwise how u would explain that in the india global rom, google works flawlessly now, with my 855?

Because this issue affects only China ROMs for devices with Snapdragon 845/855. There are different audio modules used on Global ROM. We use the Global ROM modules to fix the issue for 845, but this method doesn't work for 855.
