[GUIDE] Install TWRP for Mi 11/Pro/Ultra

But my phone number is already associated with a Mi Account. Can I remove it to register again?
No, you must use a different phone number. And when applying for unlock, you also have to use mobile data from that registered phone number.
The reason may be that the account from your phone has been denied permission, so you have to use another phone number.

How can I use a different phone number? My phone number is linked to my SIM card or am I wrong? I won't buy a SIM card with a different number just to unlock a smartphone Oo

I'm just pointing you in the direction of troubleshooting. How else is up to you :D

Buying another SIM card is no solution... I'm sorry but there has to be an other solution Oo
Try using your girlfriend's Mi account to re-register. However, it is mandatory that your girlfriend's sim is attached to your phone to work. During the 168h waiting period, you do not change the sim.

Her phone number is also linked to her Mi account, so that wont work too

Updated now stable 12.5.8 from twrp venus, everything went well, thanks! A question before rebooting should you wipe / davilcache? If you do, do you reset the device to factory?

Everything is wrong here...

Encrypted/Decrypted state of the /data partition doesn't matter if you want to wipe or format it, but:

- Wipe /data will remove all files in /data partition but will keep encryption (if it exists)

- "Format Data" will remove all files in /data partition AND will remove encryption (if it exists)

How can you dirty flash if you can't decrypt data? By using an external storage?

Full SELinux support is present.
/system/bin/make_f2fs -d1 -f -0 encrypt -0 quota -0 verity -w 4096 /dev/block/sda34 59059191 process ended with ERROR:255
Unable to wipe Data.
Unable to format to remove encryption.
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/data' (Device or resource busy)
...done
Unable to mount storage

this is what i get when trying to format data.
but i can factory reset.

---
edit used mi flash to revert everything :)

Guys,

Mi 11 Venus here. So I have definitely the TWRP "not being able to decrypt data" issue. What did I do? I was using the latest Miui EEA ROM before I switched to Xiaomi.EU.

So I got my phone unlocked
I flashed TWRP via fastboot
I formated data
I restarted TWRP
I installed Xiaomi.eu (first TWRP rom, after fastboot for Mi11 was discontinued)

Then when OTA was here I noticed I can not decrypt my internal storage. Dont know why.

BUT

I connected my phone to the PC
I went to mount - > USB
My free storage was recognized and visible on my PC
I copied the latest eu weekly there
I went to install and navigated to /data/media - the zip file was there
I was able to successfully flash it and then clear dalwik and reboot

I even made a video about the process, you can look it up on YouTube. Now I dont know what this happens.
Does TWRP mount my free storage (i.e. no need to decrypt) as /media/data so I can access it?

I was trying to explain this by reading https://twrp.me/faq/datamedia.html
So perhaps TWRP mounts my free storage to /media/data as it`s not encrypted and in the same time TWRP can not decrypt my already used storage.

I tried switching from PIN to Pattern - removing it - also removing my Mi account and etc - no luck

No some peepz got it working - with one of the combination above and formatting data again - but I dont wont тo test further at this point as I found a semi-workable solution.

Any thoughts on why this happens, i.e. why TWRP still presents /data/media although it cant decrypt?

i dont know the issue tbh but.

Mi Flash to return to CN
(https://www.xiaomiflash.com/downloads/MiFlash20181115.zip)
unzip password is xiaomiflash.com

and download and unzip the folder inside the 2 files from here: (https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.7.0...ACNXM_20210519.0000.00_11.0_cn_14a7f64ead.tgz)

(don't choose to Clean+Lock | Choose only Clean on the bottom right)
Flash.... and it goes into CN Version
(If you have a ERROR in then, don't worry its because it didnt locked your bootloader)

1 - Download TWRP (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586348269)
2 - Boot into TWRP via fastboot (fastboot boot twrp.img)
3 - Option Inject TWRP on Advanced
4 - Format Data (don't reboot after)
5 - Flash ROM
6 - Go make lunch until it gets ready xD

This worked for me, went back and now it decrypts.
The differences between this and what i did before was that i didnt injected anything and i rebooted after format so one of these were the problem.

Before starting the process, the bootloader must be unlocked and Install Xiaomi USB drivers

New update:

Instructions to install Xiaomi.EU rom for Mi11/Pro/Ultra via TWRP

1. Download minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.3_setup and install. Note to install it straight into the C drive. At this time, there will be a Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder in the C drive
Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qMeXu_DLkF1WlvRo__qy8ZNmm2WAmR3v/view?usp=drivesdk

Or shortened link: https://bit.ly/3oIeg1p

2. Download the TWRP file for Mi11/Pro/Ultra.
- TWRP for MI11 venus: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586336734
- TWRP for MI11Pro (mars): https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586348266
- TWRP for Mi 11 Ultra (star): https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586348269
(Or check here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=318170 )
3. Rename the downloaded file to twrp.img, copy the TWRP file to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder in drive C.
4. Download the Xiaomi.EU rom for your phone (find it yourself on the web). After downloading, copy the rom to the phone (should be in the root directory for easy finding later).
5. Put the phone into Fastboot mode (Power key + volume down key).
Run the file: "C:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\cmd-here.exe"
Type the command: fastboot boot twrp.img
Tip => Use the TAB key to complete filenames in command prompt windows
Wait for the installation, the phone will automatically run into TWRP
6. On TWRP, Change the language of TWRP to English, by clicking the right button on TWRP and select English.. then OK.
7. Enter the device (phone) password and press Enter for TWRP to have access to the file.
(Note: You definitely need to format data once you change ROMs - i.e. when changing ROM versions like going from stable to weekly, from official to Xiaomi.EU.... For updating within the same ROM you don't need to do that.... Do the formatting right at this step )
Run the following command after formatting to copy the rom.
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
Note: Rom is copied to Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder in the C

8. Install TWRP recovery to phone by: Select "Advanced" and select "Onekey inject TWRP". (wait for the device to install). Next time you want to enter TWRP, just press the power key + volume up (volume up). [Option]

9. Install the rom by on TWRP, select Install -> find the rom file mentioned in section 4.
10. After the installation is complete, wait for the device to restart (it takes about 5 minutes).
Update: TWRP currently does not support the "update-package" command. So after updating you still have to manually select the downloaded zip file to install. So having TWRP saves the need for a computer, but it's not available for OTA yet
(The device will not lose data if you are using XiaomiEU rom with the same version (stable -> stable, dev->dev))

Boot into Fastboot mode with Button Combo, not via command!

1. Phone in fastboot mode.
2. The computer has enough drivers installed
3. Try changing the connection cable and usb port again.

Run the command "fastboot devices" first and check if the phone is recognized
