Have I Been Cheated?

I bought a brand new Redmi 4 Prime (Pro) dual sim.
It looks great, but has lots of bugs - it loses cell and net signal all the time, it resets itself to China locale, it does not show which sim I received the phone calls/messages from, I cannot choose the sim for messages or calls etc etc.
I looked around a bit and it seems it has a fake rom - 8.0.4.0, something with CN in it .
But the saddest thing is that the model says Redmi 4 and NOT Prime, Pro etc.
Have I been cheated? Did I buy a Redmi 4 sold as a Redmi 4 Prime/Pro?
The phone has a 2 GB processor, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage
Can I do anything to root it? Is there a stable rom for Europe, one which does not lose signal and so on?
Thank you for your answers!

If you have fake rom you should first install the original global or cn rom (can be dev rom or stabe) via fastboot method with mi flash tool or sp flash tool. Then on developer settings you need to press mi status to connect that phone to your account. If you have permission to unlock your phone officially, wait 3 days after binding that to your account and then unlock via mi flahs unlock tool. Then you can install twrp and xiaomi eu rom.

Thanks so much for the answer.
But do you think my phone might be a Redmi 4 and not a Redmi 4 Prime? It says Redmi 4 model...
