How to avoid resetting time on mi unlock

I've already made some mistakes on my way to unlock the bootloader of my Redmi note 12 (tapas), now I have to wait for 15 days before being allowed to unlock it.

Now I've seen threads where people resets their mi unlock timer. Are there the things where I should look out for and shouldn't do to avoid this from happening? 15 days is very long time and I want to update my phone to hyperOS.

Once your deduction has started, you are "not allowed" to touch your Mi account on the device.
No logging out or logging back into your Mi account.
After the waiting time, just connect the device to the PC in fastboot mode.
