Hi, when I got my MI3 in the post today, I wanted to make sure it is genuine so I checked cpu-z, recovery mode and updates.

These are screenshots from cpu-z:

Is this right for a real MI3?

I checked the fastboot and I got the mibunny. But then I checked recovery mode and it does not look like in this thread: http://en.miui.com/thread-12053-1-1.html

Instead my recovery looks like this:

Then, I checked the about phone page.

My MIUI version doesn't start with MIUI-JX like this thread says it should http://en.miui.com/thread-19798-1-1.html

Instead my MIUI version says MIUI-4.5.30:

When I check for updates, I have this:

So it looks like I do not have the real MIUI either... My phone had Play Store already installed but not MI market.

So I am not sure what to think

Can you tell me if my phone is real? Thank you :)

Try to re-flash through last fastboot (your choice if stable or dev) as described here http://en.miui.com/thread-22454-1-1.html
This should restore all components and structure, including original recovery. After that you can reflash last dev version in the classic way.

Anyway it seems genuine to me.

Hi Piesko, thank you very much for your help. I used the Update app to update to 4.6.13 and it worked, does this mean it is real? I read somewhere that only real ones can update to latest version.

If it is real I do not want to try flashing it because I am scared I will do something wrong and break it! Thank you for your help :)

Yes yours looks genuine from pics and if it was fake it wouldn't update. So your good. Where did you buy yours from?

It is original, but it has a custom recovery. Maybe it was used just for installing an international MIUI version, or maybe you get a used/refurbished phone...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your help!

I am very glad my phone is real, but last night I installed antutu and did the test.

The score is 19375! That is really low. Could it be because of the custom recovery? If I do the re flash like piesko says will that fix it? Thank you so much for your help :)

Dont trust the benchmarks... Maybe it was in power saving mode instead of performance (where it gives the ~33.000 score)

Hi deini, thank you for the suggestion, but I have tried a few times on all the battery modes and it never reached 20,000.

I know the bench marks are not perfect but there is such a big difference!

Sorry about the smilies I can't seem to delete them when writing from my phone

:eek::rolleyes::eek:

Mmm well, it can also be a problem with your rom, some apps... But everything indicates that you have a real Xiaomi mi3

Hi deini, thank you for your help, I will be brave and try the reflashing tonight and see if that helps!! Thank you very much for your words :)

Hi everyone - I did the reflash like piesko said and the antutu benchmark is 26,000 now! So it is a lot better. I am very happy. Thank you :)

Now I want to install the international rom again, piesko says " After that you can reflash last dev version in the classic way." can someone please tell me what is the classic way? Thank you :D

Edit - I have found instructions here! I hope this works :) http://en.miui.com/thread-11047-1-1.html
