Mi 10 Global boot hang with miui 11 and 12

I've followed the install instructions carefully but none of the roms from here boot successfully. I've tried two versions of MIUI 12, one hangs at MIUI logo, the other shuts off after the MI boot logo. I tried MIUI 11 and it hangs on 5G (animinated glow so it's still alive, but not progressing).

I can boot back to TWRP recovery. I've tried wiping davlik cache and rebooting. I've tried factory reset. None of it makes a difference.

Any suggestions ? My model is M2001J2G and it's a global Mi 10.

The fastboot recovery for the original xiaomi rom restores fine, but I want to have the dual sim functionality hence the xiaomi.eu rom.

After install the rom is necessary format data, and reboot (first reboot can take a few minutes)

First boot take really long like 10 minute so wait ifnthe phone reboot every time is not good but if you see miui logo and 5g logo i think is fine you juste need to wait

I wish. I left it overnight (MIUI 11 rom that shows animated 5G only) and 7 hours later it's still showing the animated 5G

Yes I've done that. Still hangs. Tried again now. Still at MIUI logo after 40 mins. This is MIUI 12.0.4.0. For MIUI 12.0.1.0 it appears to turn off after the MI startup logo. For MIUI 11.0.5.0 it hangs at the 5G logo.

TWRP is 3.4.1b-0218 for Mi 10 (umi)

I'm sure there's a simple solution for someone who knows how.

Fixed. It was a bad assumption on my part. Format data is NOT the same as wipe data. I assumed it was. The format data option does more than just clear data. All working now.
