For me the gps is also not fixed in 7.1.5

Bevore 6.12.22 i had no Problem with gps, when i started navigon i had in two seconds the gps signal.
Now it tooks to 30 seconds that the navigon app has an gps signal. The same is with the app "gps status"

Exactly the same with my MI5, before Nougat GPS fix was in a few seconds... With Nougat it takes around 30-45 secs to get a fix...

GPS is not working in 8.1.7. No way.
I flashed from 8.1.6 with wype cache/dalvik, everything perfect (except empty text gmail notifications) but GPS was not working.
Then I flashed again with full wype, same behavior.
Then I rolled back to 8.1.6 with full wype. Everything perfect.
From the diagnostic menu, I see that 8.1.7 is able to check 15/16 satellites in less than 20 seconds but never fixes the position. No way at all. Even after 60 minutes.

I've "downgraded" to official stable 8.1.2.0 (MAAMIDI) and the GPS works again.

It locks as soon as 4 or 5 sattelites are fixed. This discards the possibility that it's an hardware issue.

Are Google change something and Maps stop shows GPS icon? Icon show in GPS Test and connect to 15 satellites with AGPS but no fix after 10min... 2 sattelites with only GPS, dont know what to think.

I don't have icon in Google maps too. GPS don't fix location but sattelites view is ok

GPS looks better after installing 7.1.12 and wiping cache and dalvik, yet fixing time is random despite the number of satellites visible.
With versions before Nougat it was a matter of seconds even indoor. Now indoor it never fixes GPS (not that that was a big problem).
See video: despite the number of satellites, it takes 32 seconds to fix in the open air (inside the car it takes several minutes).

Starting 6.12.29 WAZE was crazy using sattelites. I mean.. fixing was quick .. but keeping the connection was hard. Lucky for me i knew the road.. and the way back.. and used waze only for trafic reports and police reports. Other situation.. in city, sunny day.. i lost 10 -20 times connection ... where with Miui7 or any other phone connection was stable. It's the area I live and I know for sure how i stand.

So .. until GPS and Network problems are solved.. Im back to 7.5.9.0 and Im happy user.

In my experience too Waze loses GPS signal a lot, but I think the problem occurs since the upgrade to nougat not the passage from MIUI 7 to 8. I don't know if they are going to fix what is not acknowledged yet

I have same problem since upgrade from miui.eu stable based MM to miui.eu 8.1.7.0. i try factory reset but the problem not fix.

Xiaomi.eu 8.1.9.0 works for me.

I think there are more "broken" things since android 7,
I have email sync problems, gps, the phone is sometimes slow, particulary when charging and so on...
The video upload to micloud takes monthes...

Email sync problems - I can confirm that on Gmail. Also notifications doesnt show on which email address - frustrating when you have more than 1 (I use 3 emails)
