Some of the latest updates caused this.
I just happened to disable face recognition and can't add my face anymore.
When trying to add face, after hitting "Continue" or "Next" (translated so dunno if exact message as my phone is in Finnish) camera starts and instantly a message saying "Couldn't recognize you" pops up.
I'm in 9.4.18 now, but i noticed this in the previous version.
