Invalid Mi 8 not charging if not shut down

This started about a week or two ago. Mi 8 wont charge if i dont shut down the phone first. After it is shut down and turned on again it will charge normally as long as the phone is connected to the charger.

I tried resetting factory settings since it looks like it is software problem but it didnt fix it.

I dont remember installing any new MIUI patches.

Any ideas how to fix this? Phone has been working flawlessly for over 2 years and now this started out of nowhere.

Don't have any issues like that on my Mi 8.
