Thanks will it be back??
To be determined. Possibly by invitation only as Members+ so that we can control who posts there in future so there will be an approval process to undertake for those wishing to access the sub forum in the future (Should it be determined it will return).

Well i guess reddit will have to do.
Well, you know who you can thank for this action right? I did not want to make the sub forum here private but when people and throwing Slanderous remarks about what else can I do / say? If they decide to retract their false statements and provide an apology then the matter can be looked at again later.

I've defended myself by showing evidence of no abusive, threatening comments to Dong Chun (Mi Box 3 Product Manager aka Fiona) I've also taken the matter to her managers at Xiaomi to point out exactly what I've said and what she has allegedly said to a customer who has then posted this alleged false statement to reddit.

No one is perfect but I have 100% not abused or threatened anyone in the Xiaomi Mi Box team and I will defend myself publicly when someone attempts to slander me or this forum. Additionally you must ask yourself why she is saying these things to a customer about me when they are not true, even if true its not exactly professional protocol to go airing this to customers! Shows her apparent lack of professionalism if she has indeed told this customer this statement (true or not).

hmm, aren't you a bit oversensitive about this? I haven't been a part of this forum for long, so i dont really know what or who offended you. But isnt it just how people are on the internet... You just ignore the idiots, and let the others help each other. Sad you've closed it.

@DongChun is banned, isn't him?

Now, how can we -beta testers- contact him?

OTA4 RC2 has been released to general public today, but it doesn't solve anything for people with wifi dropouts and people with standby stuck.

Hi guys,
Just folowing this forum for a few weeks now but was really suprised how post getting personal and offending... Some ppl think they can say anything when behind a keyboard and on the internet..

Mi box is a great toy and yes with a few bugs... just hope things are being solved in the near future. At least not worth all the trouble I have been reading lately.

I begin to think mi box was the worst device i ever got :( A few bugs is surely an understatement... With Oreo, it gets unresponsive at least 4 times a day for me and i work full time job... Every few hours of standby and when i can get it to power up using the remote, all i get is freezing making me have to unplug power, or holding power to reset it ;_;

Hello Mark,
I was following the last Months the progress of all posts, especially the progress with the bug reports and solutions.
I would be really happy if I could follow the posts again.

Maybe you can set the Sub Forum as only readable but not writeable for Members like me.
Thank you!

Sorry you feel that way but the bigger problem is the public false statement that I have "attacked / threatened" Dong Chun. I have the message log of all my previous interactions on the forum with her. I've never once been abusive or rude toward her. This I can prove... When I asked "Generalmilk" to provide evidence of his accusation he cannot provide it, only stating that "She told him". So if she told him then it must be true? Come on... logical thinking here, I have all the logs!

The issue of slander needs to be resolved, simple as that.
I'd urge you not to punish the rest of the community over a single users comments. If it requires banning users for personal attacks, I'm sure no one would begrudge that however, removing the mi box forum helps no one.

With the Xumo app the screen displays sideways (90 degrees) on both my original Mi Box and the new Mi Box S
I though it was a Xumo version issue but it appears to see Mi Box as a phone.
There are no settings to rotate the screen in Xumo or Mi Box
Any suggestions?

It's hard to manage a subforum of a product poorly treated by xiaomi. People's cry is valid. You could always moderate offensive comments and move on.
If the Mi box incharge team want you to kiss their ass, say No. Your class action suit was our hope. Well, all i can do is talk and its the easy part. I am sure you can handle this Mod

I just recently got the Mi Box 3 so having the forums yanked away for me really hinders keeping up with the development of Oreo for this device. Hopefully the forums will be back soon.

@MarkHUK first of all, we have thanked you a lot on this, but everyone that has been watching the progress of the development of a new build for Mibox is gratefull. If not everyone, the majority.

We just needed to see what's happening with the test phase of the new releases, and contribute with feedback like we've done from the start of the launch of Android 8.0 build. The product we bought isn't working as intended, and since June (if I'm not mistaken) we've been giving feedback on the bugs list.

People have gotten frustrated, progress has been slow ... But progress nevertheless.

I understand that stupid behaviour is ... Well ... recurring and unfortunately unavoidable, but those who go that route should just be banned. If you stop the discussion altogether then, you are not listening to any of the feedback.

On the "About" of this forum it says:

Since 2010 our web site has officially worked with Xiaomi on a variety of projects for APP translations and bug fixing and is a major part of today's Xiaomi Global ROM experience thanks to the great team at xiaomi.eu and its community.

Is the Xiaomi.eu forum and Xiaomi not listening anymore to these people? How can we give feedback now?

Again, thank you for your work!

Nuno

Sorry, but if every forum reacted this way to users who are desperately seeking to be offended, then all Internet discussion forums would be shuttered up ghost towns.

The latest is this:

WX20181109-090054@2x.png

The user 'generalmilk' on reddit has slandered me numerous times in recent days. In addition Dong Chun the Product Manager as well from Xiaomi. There is no truth to the comments. I've never said "I will post on reddit and kodi forum in the future" this is 100% lies along with the fact there is no solid evidence other than his written words and false accusations. You can see his post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/9ubsmx
His profile: https://www.reddit.com/user/Generalmilk

The forum remains locked until I am cleared of these lies and rumours. I will not be publicly slandered when I have done nothing of the things he has alleged in his posts!

I think you're getting a little emotional over this & it's clouding your judgement - I don't know all the history, but you're definitely mis-reading the pasted conversation from Reddit - the "Me" bits are generalmilk talking to the Dev - he's not quoting you MarkHUK.

It's a forum, just moderate or ban users if you must - but closing an entire section isn't helping anyone.

He is accusing that I've threatened and abused the Xiaomi dev, until this is cleared up in a legal or proper way things remain as-is. Sorry.

Please bring forum back many on here need this to up to date info, at least I do.
Ask the new self-proclaimed Mi Box 3 saviour 'Generalmilk' on Reddit to retract his slander and I will consider it.

However while a Xiaomi Mi Box team employee (Dongchun) and him (generalmilk) continue to remark slanderous comments against me I will not change my stance on the issue until it is resolved.

Giving in to stupid people is offering them the trophy on a silver platter ... while punishing us the Customer/User.

We'll just have to go somewhere else to get updates on a process that was started here, which I think is unfortunate and undeserving of the work you've done.

And being slandered is not undeserving of the work i've done? all things considered there is no real way to keep those fools out of the forums there. I am not here to take abuse on a daily basis then be accused of doing the SAME to them. It gets tiresome when you do something for FREE to try and HELP people without asking for anything in return.

Really the punisher is Xiaomi for the mockery of the Mi Box 3 issues sorry to say.
