Mi8 Stuck in Mi + android logo

So i just got my Mi 8. Came with unlocked bootloader. Booted up fine on global stable. Did some hardware tests and was all good.

Then i iprepared to install xiaomi eu rom. 8.7.26

I installed the latest twrp 3.2.3. Wiped data and internal storage. Copied rom to phone. Flashed and wiped caches. Reboot and boom its stuck. no magisk and such.

Did the whole procedure 2 to 3 times. I am pretty experienced with flashing. Did i do something wrong? Has something changed recently?

You need to do "Format Data" (typing yes), before copy the rom and directly flash eu (and thats all). If you dont do it, you will be stuck on Mi logo and will not boot.

I kinda knew that but you helped me alot with the "typing yes" it was a different option next to wipe and that was the correct one. Booted up fine! Thanks!

which version of twrp have you used?
i cant see any 3.2.3 for dipper (MI8)
 
I need your help guys Ive installed twrp 0806 and it always restarts, the twrp windows shows up for 3 seconds and then it restarts and i cant do anything. What do you suggest me to do ?

I need you to explain what I did, I installed twrp 0711 and got the newest xiaomi.eu rom installed and tried to boot but it was stuck in a bootloop. I only did Wipe Cache & Dalvic and Data . I tried to enter into the twrp 0711 again and its always stuck in the "LR TEAM" picture. Then I tried to install the newest TWRP 0806 and this gets me into twrp but it closes after some seconds. Im desperate what to do now

It happened to me also. I didn't manage to find exactly the way. I had my phone connected to the computer when the restarts happened, so i unplugged it and worked after 2-3 times. I thought the pc usb port was faulty or something. For the first problen, you have to do wipe Data but not from the advanced settings. From the options next to it. You ll know wheb you find it cause it will ask you to type yes for confirm.

Ok nice my friend I already managed to get into the Menu of the 0806, do i need to flash the xiaomi.eu again ? I just wiped my data by typing in YES, lets see what happens now.

Oh lord thanks my friend you helped me with your hint. THANKS A LOT MY FRIEND !!! You cant believe how grateful i am .

So ive installed the newest xiami.eu rom on it and i thought it would be enough to use googlepay, any hints ? Haha sorry i didnt know that I can only use my credit card to use it.

I am happy it worked out. So you want to pay with your bank app? I think xiaomi.eu rom passes safety net check. I flash magisk (root) for other stuff i need, and use magisk hide on my bank apps that don't work. Let me remind you that if you flash magisk you need to do a restart twice or else it lags like hell.

Yeah I would like to use the bank app but I think its only usable with a credit card. So far Pokemon Go, Netflix & Face Unlock work. That wasn the case when I had the Global 9.5 Rom on it. Only because Im interested, but for which apps do you need magisk for example ?
 
Magisk is root. With root you have full control over your phone. You can install a full adblocker for thr annoying adds. You can install some very good magisk modules like youtube vanced, that you can listen to youtube even with the screen off and has total black theme (total black saves battery on our phone because we have amoled screen. Also it doesn't work right now but magisk will be needed if you want to install *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* mod. I suggest you do a research on YouTube and Google to answer all your questions. Anything you need sent a pm or reply here.

I really should have read this thread more carefully, but I too did the wipe instead of format and am stuck at the android logo on boot. What is the easiest way to get back into twrp recovery mode?? thanks

If you press volume up + power does it boot into custom recovery?
 
That is a negatory. I can get into fastboot at least.

Just so it's clear, the phone came with bootloader locked and china stable. I unlocked it tonight and put the 8.8.9 on. I found a fastboot rom for 9.5 global, if I flash this using the Mi Flash tool, would it hard brick the phone? I seem to remember some kind of a warning about going from china to global roms.

guys im stuck at mi logo what to do now i have installed the eu beta rom and im waiting since 2 hours
