The "Current" graphic overlay for the applied theme part in the 'edit theme' area (i.e. boot animations, boot audio...) is still showing up as Chinese text.
Upgraded via a flash over and applied the language pack
I was having this issue also but using the latest build and language pack (HTC Desire) resolved the problem for me. I had to wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache for this to work.
