Whatever the version I'm using (tried before and after miui8 update), i can't get a score over 100000 :/ (mi5 64gb)
I suppose that a full wipe would solve this, but I don't want to reinstall all apps for now, this phone is still reeeeaaaaally fast

Why so many people do care of how many scores we get on the test. Just using the phone and feeling comfortable with handling necessary task to do is so much okie.Same for me

I got a better score after upgrading to latest EU stable (~128 000)
@ stevedat: it's not that important indeed, but it gives a visual representation of the capacity of the phone. If with a rom version it's lower than with a previous one, it can be the sign of some bugs.
I wonder why people who allegedly "don't care" in fact do care about people who care about benchmarks.. Is it not more ridiculous?! Why would you come here and tell people what they should do with their phones, if you "do not care"? I could tell you thousends of reasons, why people like to benchmark or why they are doing it at all. To me it's just another hobby, pushing limits, testing, tinkering, etc...

Gaming is still super smooth also redmi 3.
with miui 7 they had much more performance from the test side. the first head of the 8 I did not find improvements . then the phone is fine .... God forbid.
I changed my phone more to forbid that need . but xiaomi mi4w , is definitely better . It is working very well. I had known I would have taken and waited a phone that truly reflected .

You only need to disable memory optimization and miui optimization in developer settings.

Have you tried dev rom 6.8.18? This is only rom I am able to get the score 142035 any where else i get from 70 000 - 116 000.

No, and I don't want to (was a dev ROM user as well, but I think weekly update is too much). I'm OK with my score as my games demand are fulfilled. Just a bit sad because the BIG cluster is sleeping most of the time.
