Moving from English to Multilang on Mi2S

Hello, first-time user of Mi2S & MIUI. When I got my phone, I flashed the English-only MIUI build (using the original Xiaomi recovery to system 1). However later I found out that OTA only works for the Multilang build (this should really be in the FAQ). So now I want to flash Multilang. Can I just use the same procedure (rename file to update.zip, put in root folder, reboot to recovery, flash to system 1) or do I need CWM or something else? What about all my installed apps and their settings? Sorry, I'm still a newb and trying to learn. Thx

OTA works for both.. EN and multilang Mi2/S...

Oh I see.. I was misinformed, sorry. OTA didn't work for me, that's why I wanted to switch, which I already did. Thx.

Ota works for xiaomi devices on the regular English ROM?

I got my Xiaomi MI 2S This week. When I got it , it was 3.11.25 build.
I immediately got an OTA via the Updater and I upgraded it to 3.11.1.

Now that the 3.11.8 has been released , I am not getting it in OTA.
Have attached screenshots for the same.

This makes me get worried about my Xiaomi being a fake. But Antutu benchmark is as promised, about 27,000.

Eh.. why bother? Just download full miuiandroid rom and flash using Updater app. Fast and simple.

Are you on the multilang or English only ROM?

I might have English ROM since in 'Languages and input' there is only English and Chinese.
Will flash 3.11.8 Multilang and check if OTA works this Friday. thanks
