Nova Launcher - Miui Clock Widget?

I want to run Nova launcher, which means that the awesome MIUI clock is not available to me as a widget.

Is there a way to install the really nicely designed MIUI digital clock widget on the Nova launcher desktop?

I've tried installing other digital clock widgets with no success...when the phone goes into sleep mode, the clock doesn't update and has a different time displayed than the one in the status bar.

My first choice would be to use the MIUI digital clock on Nova launcher and the second would be a way to figure out how to get a third party digital clock to work correctly.

I've tried changing the MIUI battery management for the non-MIUI digital clock app in settings. I've tried making sure that MIUI doesn't kill the clock task by locking it from the task killer. I've tried 5 different digital clock apps.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

install link2sd and convert the installed clock apps into system apps. I have tried it on chronus and it ixes the bugs. Just dont update the app via the playstore after that.

Thanks for the help Memes!

So what I hear you saying is that even though I don't move the non-MIUI digital clock app to the SD, Link2SD will allow me to convert the clock app to be a system app - and doing so will make it that the clock stays in sync with the actual time.

Is that correct?

Is it something I need root to do? I haven't rooted my Redmi Note 4.

if you don't have root than theres nothing you can do.
if you ARE rooted the steps are as follows;

1. Install clock app and install link2sd
2. Open Link2SD and look for the clock app you installed.
3. Long press the clock app and choose 'convert to system app'
4. Reboot.

I understand you're problem and I'm afraid only rooting can solve it.

What you CAN try though (if your bootloader is unlocked and have TWRP), Root, do the steps above, and unroot. Do a full backup before that using TWRP in case anything goes wrong.

So it's not possible to have a reliable clock and a different launcher without root?

Love this phone. Don't like that part.

Thanks for your help.
