Optimized GPS settings for EU -- effect outside EU?

Hi Xiaomi.eu team, thanks for all your work!

I'm in Ecuador (South America, near the equator). The ROM release page says that there are "Optimized GPS settings for EU". Please, can you explain what settings were optimized for the EU? Will these settings degrade the TTFF (time to first fix) or accuracy for me here in Ecuador? How can I modify these settings to optimize them for where I live?

Although I'm in Ecuador, maybe this topic is relevant to everyone who lives outside the EU and wants to have high-quality GPS with this ROM.

Note: In some places there are satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) to improve GPS results. Here in South America none of those systems are available currently (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNSS_augmentation#Satellite-based_augmentation_system).
