Recorder app version: 6.1.39 package name: com.android.soundrecorder

"Feedback says;"

"java.lang.NullPointerException
at java.io.File.<init>(File.java:288)
at n2.e.b(Unknown Source:61)
at com.android.soundrecorder.z.x(Unknown Source:199)
at com.android.soundrecorder.z.i(Unknown Source:0)
at com.android.soundrecorder.z$a.run(Unknown Source:4)"

if possible i need a fix soon... i must use the recorder for something...

Fixes tried:

wiping cache from twrp - didn't help
wiping app's cache - didn't help

workaround for now - go to the recorder app and try your best to tap to the record button as fast as possible - then when the app crashes it still keeps on recording anyways...

''log'' screenshot from ''feedback'' attached above:

the issue fixed itself... weird.

your rom isnt stable and no one checks the bug reports... goodbye xiaomi.eu hyperos 2 was a catastrophe
Oh don't worry, I read bug reports, doesn't mean I always have something to respond. We can't reproduce your crash.
Good bye, poweruser44.

hmm... maybe try a factory reset? in my case the problem went away on its own
This is where my phone got weird. I tried a factory reset on version 104 and the recorder worked fine for the first few days. But after a few days it suddenly started crashing again.Today I updated to version 105 and there was no change.:(

The only thing you seem to have in common in using German display language.
The issue might have something to do with German translation.

Confirmed that it's a German translator mistake. Fixed for next release:
However, there is no way to remove the recording with the invalid file name without root, so clearing Recorder app data is necessary.

@MeiGuddet In this reply:
Kacper advised to remove the "aaa" and change "hh" to "HH" to avoid the AM/PM, not change the whole format.
When you saw "hh.mm" in the original string (rather than "hh:mm") that should have raised an eyebrow.
