I advise you to update your phone to latest 21.3.10 via twrp, than wipe dalvik/cache, mine mi 9 SE is much smoother now. That version (21.3.5) lagged as hell.

I tried but the problem continues. Android 11 beta roms have this problem for mi 9 se. There are also some drops in the interface.
I just installed the last stable version. there is no problem in this version. smooth.

I hope the developer team fix this problem in android 11 release
