Redmi 1 or Redmi 1S

Hi folks

I'm looking at buying either of these phones.
Which do you think would be the better long term buy?
I have to admit I'm leaning towards the 1S but would like to hear pros and cons of both!

Get the 1s.

The original redmi fails in comparison on every end... Storage size, battery runtime, speed, etc.

I'm afraid I have to disagree on the battery aspect, even though I'd still recommend the 1S.

This is not a custom ROM? And can't be flashed from recovery?

that's an official ROM. what I meant by custom Roms are the ones the redmi has. such as stock android. vivo funtouch os. vibe ui. and stuff. however the 1s is notably faster. but I've seen what kitkat can do for mtk processors.

I opened a bug report on the official miui forum. The more confirmations of battery issue being report, the more the miui team will concentrate on it.

Have actually both types

Redmi 1S pro:
- general speed and smoothness
- bigger storage place
- far better (quicker and stabler) GPS connection (Redmi is good enough as well)

Redmi 1S con:
- battery life (for me approximately 30% less than Redmi)
- custom recoveries are not 100% working yet
- weaker bluetooth (at least in my case)
