I have redmi 2 2014811 (as read on label underneath battery). I installed CWM and a custom rom. It was too buggy so I wanted to install MIUI original rom.

When installin MIUI stable or developer rom for 2014811, installation was aborted and CWM said my model is 2014813! So I installed 2014813 ROM, which was installing fine, but telephone doesn't have signal (cant call or send/receive text messages)

Any help would be appreciated to install 2014811 ROM.

that is because the cwm recovery you have installed works in hm20140811 but is for hm20140813. when you flash a hm20140811 rom the recovery thinks that it is not for your device

you can try the next, without flashing by fastboot, there are two ways to do

A)

you need to install notepad++ from here: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/
also the 7ZIP or similar: 7zip here: http://7zip-es.updatestar.com/

if you are ready. download the recovery flashable rom for your device (hm20140811)

1.-open it with the 7ZIp (without extracting) and go to meta-inf/com/google/android/

2.-Extrac the updater-script and edit it with notepad++ ; you have to replace the first lines where you see hm20140811 and write hm20140813 and save the modified updater-script ( without change the name)

3.- open again the rom file with 7ZIP and replace the modified updater-script with the original updater-script

B)

just flash an hm20140811 cwm recovery by fastboot

reboot in fastboot mode, conect the phone to the pc and open the CMD

then write (without """) :

"fastboot flash recovery " and move the recovery.img to the cmd window and press ENTER

RECOVERY FOR HM20140811 HERE: http://www.movilesdualsim.com/tema/xiaomi-redmi-2-cwm-recovery-hm2014811.92499/

i hope it would hel you

i think you are wrong, read it again and you will see it
he has flashed thewrong cwm recovery and when he is going to flash the correct rom the instalation fails because recovery thinks that the rom is wrong but it is not the wrong rom

The fix for this issue is very easy, I once got this problem also when I changed my Redmi 2 1GB to the newer Redmi 2 Enhanced (bought it from Mi Singapore), because at first I read anywhere on the net, that the 2014813 is the codename for Redmi 2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. But I was wrong! The Redmi 2 Enhanced bought from Mi SG or Mi MY basically are the same Redmi 2 with the older one that came with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, it only have a bigger RAM and more spacious storage. That's all.

To fix this, just flash the TWRP recovery for 2014811 and download ROM for 2014811. You're all set!

Hi,
Would you please so kindly to explain step-by-step how to do that? I have similar problem with Jasper Marsman, except that mine is HM2014817. Some how I flashed it with CWM recovery for 2014813. I tried to revert back to stock recovery by flashing the TWRP recovery for 2014811 as explained in this posting http://en.miui.com/thread-114090-1-1.html, but it didn't work.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Hudy14,

It's very easy to fix your issue. Your Redmi 2 has the same exact model number as mine.

Actually, you don't need to revert back to stock Mi Recovery in order to fix this. Below are the steps I taken with my Redmi 2 when I try to fixed this issue:

1. Download the TWRP Recovery for 2014811 from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzmAum0_EZv5TTlmbzJJYUFFeW8&authuser=0

2. Copy the downloaded zip into your phone sdcard or internal storage.

3. Boot normally into MIUI

4. Follow this instructions:
Installation of the phone:
1. Go to Settings> About phone> System Update> (...) (top right three points)> Choose update package and specify the downloaded file recovery *signed.zip.
or
2. Rename the downloaded archive in update.zip and transferred to the internal memory of the phone. Go to stock recovery>Install from update.zip

5. Download ROM for Redmi 2 2014811 from Xiaomi.eu Download page (http://xiaomi.eu/community/link-forums/roms-download.73/)

6. Flash ROM as usual. Done.
