I don't know why they would do that but I guess it's Xiaomi so that explains it all

Yes, oddly enough, Xiaomi removed all code and libraries related to Mi Smart Play from the Global variant of the "Cast" app (com.milink.service).

Most of our ROMs are based on China ROM, which means it comes with the China ROM variant of the Cast app, no one complained about any compatibility issues.

Just installed the Chinese version of the app to test if and I can confirm that it works on my Samsung TV and the playback control is working

Hey, do you mind sharing how you made the media panel work? I can't seem to be able to find the chinese version of the cast app anywhere.

You need to install it with this and here is the app. You can use either the 13.x or 14.x version. But it might be included with new update once it comes out as it was marked as "Solved"

Yeah that's what I was doing, but no success on my Mi 10 on latest stable. I can get the updated control center just fine, but the media tile just refuses to appear.

Because you have Cast 12.x try with 13.x or 14.x
Also try restarting after installing

On ApkMirror, download System plug-in ver. 13.0.1.32.10 and Cast 13.0.0.0 rc6. That did the trick for me, works on my Mi 10.

As far as I know, Mi Smart Play is not exposed for Global ROM. We actually patch Settings, System UI Plugin and Cast apps to reveal both the widget and its settings.

It's already being done. Just gotta wait for the next Stable ROM for your device.

On ApkMirror, download System plug-in ver. 13.0.1.32.10 and Cast 13.0.0.0 rc6. That did the trick for me, works on my Mi 10.

The trick does not work for me,
- Since the System Ui plugin on v13.0.2.0Skcmixm is higher than 13.0.1.32.10 then cann't downgrade

- Cast 13.0.0.0rc6 on Apkmirror has two version, I have checked both but still no affect, only Smart Hub tiles shown

The issue reappeared again after MIUI 14 update.

Also does anyone know how to remove the slight white tint from the Control Center?

Also Xiaomi has added some sort of white tint to the Control Center and the lock animation is missing. I am wondering if there is a way to add at least the lock animation back.
