New Redmi Note 3 Sd - Apps Can't Write To Sdcard

I'm on xiaomi.eu ROM 6.8.4 right now, rooted and officially unlocked.

This is a problem I'm facing for very long now (lot of last/latest xiaomi.eu ROMS) , and every 'solution' I found so far hasn't worked at all.
All the apps that use the Documents app to gain access to SDCARD can't access it. The one that affects me most right now is FolderSync, but it isn't the only one.
With Documents app enabled in settings>installed apps, it just leads to a white screen for a split second and back to the original app.
With Doments app disabled, it just asks to enable it.

I have tried installing various SDCARD 'fix' apps, but they didn't help either.

HELP please?

I use xposed module XinternalSD and have had no problems using apps that wrote to external SD cards.
I have a Redmi Note 3 pro Sd.

Thank you Cossak, but it didn't help. The application still tries to access Documents application and fails with a split second white screen. The exact same thing happens with this xposed module installed, enabled and options selected.
