Redmi Pad SE - USBC connections not recognised until restart

Hi,

I have a couple of issues with USB C connectivity on a new Redmi Pad SE 8.
OS version: 2.0.2.0
Android Version 15
April security version.

When I use a USB C for audio output I need to restart the device for the audio to be passed through.
When apps ask for permissions, I grant them but the device connected disconnects immediately. Again this is solved by a restart.
Quite annoying as if I switch apps, say spotify to you tube I have to restart the device between app switching.

Are there any settings I'm missing?
I've enabled developer options and Disable USB audio routing is turned off by default, toggling it on and off made no difference.

Use 3.5 mm audio connector or Bluetooth.
