Refresh network connection 1.3.5

I'm running latest build and wondering if there's a way to refresh the network settings? Sort of like a PRL or Profile update with a sense rom. I'm finding that as soon as I'm out of one city and into the next, the phones 3G gets a little laggy. Thanks!

Not sure about other phone models and/or carriers, but on the Motorola Droid on Verizon, we do *228+
