Hello everyone,
long time lurker in the forums, this time I seemingly cannot fix this issue without some help.
I'm looking for some guidance in troubleshooting Google Play Services permissions. Specifically so that Quick Share (formerly Nearby Share) can work again on my phone.
The next 2 paragraphs are mainly for context, feel free to skip.
Why Permissions? I've attached a screen record of the issue. The app itself runs, it just seemingly crashes when I try to interact normally. I'm confident it could be due to permission access like Phone Setting toggle and file reading access. Disabling bluetooth helps aleviate some opening issues, but the file-sharing component seems to be failing anyways. I've done extensive research and tried many fixes: Deleting Cache, Data within the app settings, resetting my network/ Bluetooth and running terminal commands to start different modules of Play Services.
My device is a Poco F4 GT/ K50G (INGRES) running HyperOS 2.0.5.0.ULJCNXM in A14.
I have been rooted with APatch + LSposed using minimal modules to pass play integrity checks successfully. At this point, Quick Share was fully functional between my devices.
Last time GPay was flagging my device I decided to start over from a basic wipe + dirtyflash, redoing the whole process. Notably, I had to delete GPlay Services Data from within the app settings, which might have started this mess. Now I am up-to-date according to Google Play, Apatch-LSPosed, and each of the modules.
It's been a couple weeks and, from what I can tell, the only feature not working is QS.
Is anyone knowledgeable in permission setting using terminal commands? One problem I've always had is that permissions seem very restrictively set to the point that basic functionality, like Quick Share (Play services App) being able o enable bluetooth, gets broken.
How do you guys propperly balance between privacy/security and basic usability of apps? Are there common practices I might be missing?
PD: The xiaomi screen recording app was also not able to record (seemingly having no permission for file storage). I installed a 3rd party solution this one time... When I stop Google Play Services activities in the settings app, the casting of this app also stops. Seems related somehow.
