In Progress [SGS2][2.4.20] Play Music, the screen fade to black, and then reboot

I wonder anyone experienced the same thing pls share... I cant provide further logs because.. it still keep rebooting after 5-10 secs playing music

I followed flashing standard procedure (backup,wipe dalvik, factory reset, and then flash)
Im assuming it happens when the music app not be able to fetch the lyrics and ablum meta-data

PS: If someone already reported this bug pls delete this thread

hmm... i think this will reproduce the bugs on SGS2
1. Turn off lyrics fetching (it goes black the music keep playing)
2. Press home then the phone will reboot

Mine keeps rebooting just sitting there. Straight from the lock screen it kept rebooting. Dont know how to do adb logcat. reverted to cwm backup

List of bugs known from Last week and new ones for this week's realese:
- browser - menu, there is line that says "Unfortunately, %1$s has stopped." It will open search in page.
- when using pattern or PIN security on the lockscreen, it is impossible to change wallpaper
- People app - long press on any phone number and pick "Copy to clipboard" < it won't copy anything.
- FC at Settings -> About phone -> Status
- old UI (Samsung default): camera
- Updater > MIUI 2.4.20 (Weekly Build) > the changelog is in chinese
- Alarm clock and the rest of the clock options have a wired colored titles again
- Music player leads to FC when you start playing music from it (if you try and play music from the lock screen it works fine)
- Lockscreen is in Chineese (yea i know its not a bug just mantioning)

Cannot confirm musicplayer FC, works fine here on my SGS2.

I can confirm this. Did a full wipe before installing and still have this bug. No matter how you start the music player the screen goes black immediately after you start playing and within seconds the phone reboots.
This is a show stopper for me as the music player is the app I use the most.
Hope this gets fixed.

Sometimes i get FC when i play music and smetumes it plays fine. cant figure out what could be the reason. :/

I found out that starting the player from the lockscreen (and using it that way) works. The downside is that you'r stuck with whatever it wants to play. Since I couldn't use it before it is going through all my playlist but if you had something preloaded you could be stuck with just that, unless you go to the player after you started it from the lockscreen and change settings. Don't know if it would FC that way.

I'm affected by this bug too.

I experimented a bit with the logcat from eclipse. It seems to be related to the way album arts are rendered (there is an exception happening), but it may not be related. Then, the system tries to show an error popup which apparently does not exist and crashes completely.

I joied the full logcat and a filtered one (only com.android.systemui, system_process and com.miui.player and minimum error level at "warning") to this reply. I hope you can find what you're looking for in one of them.

EDIT: I added a second logcat showing "failed to extract an album art" messages. I think it may be related.

I'll be happy to let you all know that on 2.4.21, the music FC bug is fixed. The alarm white writing on white background tabs are still there though.
