Smilies/emoji???

Hey...
Was wondering, now that we got those emoji icons in the mms app, the "regular" smilies is show just as plain text and not as emoticons anymore. The icons they used for "regular" smileys are now used for the emoji icons..
I looked in the framework and the original android emoticons are still there, so i was thinking, if there was a way to get those shown when selecting "regular" smilies? (On the first tab of the smiley/emoji selection screen)

Because, i'm from europe and EVERYONE (who are not using MIUI) without an iphone can't see these new emoji's, they just show up as squares.. (And even many iphone users can't SEND the icons, only recieve them...)

When you click attachment button, you see a menu with several options.
Then click the smiley, you'll see some tabs in the bottom, where the first one is the regular smilies. The next ones are the emoji ones..

i really would like to know that too...
