Some icons have stayed in Chinese after installing Miui

Hi! Hope you can help!

Istalled Miui two days ago along with the English language pack, but all of the default apps still appear on the homescreen with Chinese text underneath.

In the app list, however, they appear in English.

Does anyone know how I can change them to English, or manually edit the icons?

Hi,

First make sure you have selected English from the Input & Language settings found in: Settings > System

If this is set then you may need to boot to recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache then reboot.

That should sort the issue out, if not post back and let us know.

Thanks for the reply! I tried that, but no luck, I'm afraid! When I rebooted, though, I got the Android bot and exclamation mark image, and had to press a few keys before the recovery menu came up.

If it makes any difference, I'd swapped out the SD card I'd used when I made the backups etc when rooting/ installing ROM.
