Switching to different custom ROM

If I were to switch from Xiaomi.eu to a different custom ROM like PixelExperience or LineageOS, would I lose Widevine L1? Or does reverting back to global ROM cause Widevine L1? Is backing up persist.img necessary in those instances? I'm on MIUI 12 stable if that makes a difference.

I would say that it is inelegant to abandon the Xiaomi Eu for another image but ask for help in the Xiaomi Eu forum. Perhaps it would be more correct to ask in the forum of the image you want to install.

The thing is, I'm just asking hypothetically, there are no other ROMs available for my device, so I couldn't switch even if I wanted to. I don't really know much about Widevine so that's why I'm asking, since a lot of people have mentioned it here. I think it's still relevant to this forum since I would have to format all data the xiaomi.eu ROM installed and I don't know how/if that would effect Widevine (since I read a post somewhere that you have to back up persist.img when reverting to global ROM).
